Pelvic Health Physiotherapy
Our physiotherapist, Bridget Pyke, is specially trained to restore function and ease pain arising from pelvic floor dysfunction. Research has shown a direct relationship between pelvic floor dysfunction and low back/hip/pelvic pain as well as core and bladder function.
On your first visit, our physiotherapist will ask you questions about your condition and perform a thorough physical exam – this may include an internal pelvic exam component. We understand that conditions related to pelvic health are sensitive and take the necessary time to ensure you are always comfortable and informed.
Depending on the pelvic health issue, treatments may include education and guidance, bladder retraining, IMS/dry needling, exercises to strengthen pelvic floor and manual therapy. Pelvic Health Physiotherapy can help with many Pelvic related conditions such as:
- Pre-natal (preparation for childbirth)
- Post-natal (recovery after childbirth)
- Childbirth-related trauma/complications (ie. Diastasis Rectii, C-Section and Episiotomy recovery)
- Lower risk of vaginal prolapse
- Bowel and bladder issues (ie. Incontinence)
- Recovery following prostate surgery
